Alyssa turns 6!

Alyssa's birthday this year fell on field day at school!  Not only was it a half of day at school, but a day full of games!  She had a great time.  Both Shawn and Alyssa ran hard!  That evening we had a cookout at our house.  It took a little while for Alyssa to warm up, she can be so shy, even around her closest friends!

8 cities in 5 days...Maura Boswell comes to visit Spain!

Maura Boswell made a visit to Spain...first stop...visit us!  Alyssa and I met her in Cordoba, my suggestion since it was patio festival and I have always wanted to go!  The day was rainy, which made it a little difficult as we had picked a park to meet in.  By a small miracle, we found each other...our plan wasn't great, but we managed!  We visited the Mezquita there and took in the beautiful patios.  We then headed to Sevilla, where we would stay the night.  We are used to seeing these local cities during the day, so it was nice to visit Sevilla at night. We took a carriage ride through town and enjoyed the night time scenery!  The next day Maura went to the Cathedral and Alyssa and I enjoyed a nice cup of coffee!!!  Then we went to see Metropol Parasol and took in a view of the city from above!  And after lunch we visited the Alcazar.  After a stop for ice cream we headed back to Rota!  Next day we took Maura into Rota and walked on the boardwalk and played in the sand!  That evening I took her to my favorite place, Vejer, and the highlight was dinner at Califa, our favorite Morrocan restaurant!  A nice visit to Cadiz the next day, walked around and discovered the forts on the water there, so beautiful.  We wanted to buy fish at the market, but there was none.  Apparently there is no fresh fish on Monday's because they don't fish on Sundays!  And last but not least...last day with Maura...we went to Puerto Banus, Marbella and Malaga.  All were very nice, and we had a great time.  I think we were all worn out from our busy days, but we love having guests and showing them around, reminds us of where we live and to enjoy it!
