Since we loved Germany in the summer, we decided we must also go in the winter! So, we did! We had our rocky moments, cold kids, disappointed parents, but looking back at these pictures made me realize we had a lot of fun too! We went up to the Zugspitze to see some snow and do some sledding. The kids had a great time up here, making snow angels, throwing snowballs, and sledding! One night we were actually able to go sledding on the ski slopes in Austria! It was amazing, fast, and scary all at the same time. The kids got cold quickly, but everyone still had fun! And of course swimming, we did lots of swimming at the indoor pool and outdoor hottub, and we were in the hottub in the snow! Very fun winter vacation!
The girls favorite thing was ice skating. I was pleasantly surprised. They loved it and did it for hours! We ended up going two different days, since they had so much fun. And they did really well too, might be some leasons in their future! It was pretty cool to skate in an Olympic rink too!
Amazing, breathtaking views of the mountains!
And fun pictures while we walked through town, really cool benches. One even looked like a ski lift.
The kids talked about making a snowman, so we had to make that happen. There wasn't any snow on the ground in Garmish, we had to make our way a little higher up. But, we found some snow, and Miss Carolyn was the best snowman maker, with the help of all the kids!
Walking through Garmish during our last night there, it was snowing and so beautiful! Hard to capture, but I did my best.
Our final day we decided to visit Dachau Concentration Camp. Although we were disappointed in video presentation, actually being there was very surreal. Hard to imagine what it was like, both surviving inside and living outside of the gates.
The last night we stayed in a town called Memmingen, near the airport. It was a very adorable little German town. We enjoyed the small amount of time we had there by stolling the streets and having dinner.
